Retail Shift Supervisor

This position contributes to Starbucks success by assisting the store manager in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. This job deploys partners and delegates tasks so that partners can create and maintain the Starbucks Experience for our customers. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates a strong commitment to upholding the values and mission of Starbucks, consistently acting with integrity and honesty.
• Demonstrates composure and professionalism in handling busy periods or unexpected situations, ensuring smooth store operations and serving as a role model for the shift team.
• Constantly evaluates the environment and customers to anticipate their needs.
• Effectively relays information to the manager to ensure the team can promptly adapt and foster a conducive environment during every shift.
• Provides support for new partner training through positive reinforcement of successful performance and respectful, encouraging coaching when necessary. Gives feedback to the store manager regarding the performance of team members during their shift.
• Contributes to fostering a positive team environment by promptly identifying any alarms or changes in partner morale and performance, and effectively communicating them to the store manager.
• Ensures a positive learning environment through effective coaching and feedback to partners on shift, promoting operational excellence and enhancing partner performance.
• Provides exceptional customer service to all customers by prioritizing their needs and establishing a strong connection with them. Identifies and addresses customer needs.
• Builds strong connections with the shift team by actively listening to and resolving their individual motivations, needs, and concerns.
• Carries out store operations during scheduled shifts. Coordinates opening and closing responsibilities as assigned.
• Adheres to Starbucks operational policies and procedures, including cash handling and safety and security protocols, to prioritize the well-being of all partners throughout every shift.
• Ensures adherence to cash management and cash register policies, and maintains proper cash management practices within the shift team.
• Adheres to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
• Acknowledges and supports individual and team achievements through the utilization of established organizational resources, while also working closely with the store manager to explore innovative and impactful approaches to recognition.
• Utilizes various tools to ensure optimal operational performance throughout the shift.
• Ensures consistent and timely attendance.
  

Qualifications:

• Customer service experience in a retail or restaurant environment 1 year.
• Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays
• Meet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling and store safety and security, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to direct the work of others.
• Ability to learn quickly.
• Effective oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of the retail environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team
