Meat Team Member

The Meat Team Member is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a well-stocked and clean meat department, and preparing high-quality meat products. This role involves assisting customers with their selections, ensuring proper handling and storage of meat products, and following all food safety and sanitation guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fresh foods, strong communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, cut, and package various types of meat, including beef, pork, poultry, and seafood, according to company standards and customer requests.
• Ensure that all meat products are properly labeled with accurate pricing, weight, and description.
• Maintain a well-organized and visually appealing meat display case, rotating products to ensure freshness and prevent waste.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handwashing, glove usage, and the cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and work surfaces.
• Monitor product temperatures and storage conditions to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Stock shelves and display cases with fresh products, ensuring that all items are rotated and properly stored.
• Assist in training new employees on meat cutting techniques, food safety protocols, and customer service standards.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a meat department, butcher shop, or food service environment is preferred but not required.
• Experience with meat cutting and preparation techniques is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of different cuts of meat, cooking methods, and product handling.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, such as lifting, cutting, and packaging meat products.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
