Job Summary and QualificationsThe RN Employee Health assists with the daily management the employee health patients, medical staff and occupational health staff physicians, utilizing the acquired knowledge of pathophysiology, pharmacology, and physiology. The RN Employee Health exercises independent judgment in assessment of the employees. The RN Employee Health participates in the development of policies and procedures for employee health care, and serves as a resource for the hospital through consultation, education and research at various levels to continuously improve the Employee Health processes and services.
- Demonstrates the ability to adapt technique/treatment to age of population served, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, while providing care/service with respect to cultural differences and spiritual needs
- Provide clinical coverage for employee health patients Utilize appropriate diagnostic and physical assessment to aid in the development and implementation of the medical/nursing plan of care in collaboration with the supervising physician to manage illness or injury and promote wellness
- Documents concisely and timely in the medical records
- Accountable for adhering to al l applicable regulations regarding documentation
- Ensures compliance with applicable Federal and State of Kansas laws and regulations
- Demonstrates the ability to work a flexible schedule to cover the clinical duties
- Monitors and evaluates the quality and appropriateness of care and practices identifying opportunities for improvement through collaboration
- Performs all other duties as assigned
What qualifications you will need:
Required Registration, Licensure or Certification:
- Current Licensure in the State of Kansas as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Current Multi-State Licensure as a Registered Nurse with the ability to obtain a Kansas Registered Nurse license within 90 days of start date
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course through American Heart Assoc. or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR
Preferred Education or Experience:
- Advanced nursing degree
- Employee Health experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Comfortable and skilled at working with leadership, health care providers and other stakeholders in the organization
- Capable of gaining immediate credibility with individuals through experience, presentation, communication skills, empathy and compassion
- Knowledge of PC based computer software, i.e. Word and Excel
- Broad knowledge and familiarity with health care related regulatory and accreditation requirements
- Experience with continuous compliance processes
