School Bus Driver

Assisting students get to and from school and other locations while following set routes and making sure their safety while in school vehicles. People in this group are generally supervised within the limits of standard rules and policies. This job class is in charge of making sure that a school bus runs safely and that all students on board are safe while also sticking to the bus's plan.

Responsibilities:

• Transport children and other passengers to and from school
• $26.81- $36.00/HR Starting Wage* Depending on Experience
• Drivers enjoy the support of our industry leading technology to guide them through their daily routes
• Prioritize vehicle maintenance by conducting pre and post trip vehicle inspections
• Provide support to students by assisting with boarding and exiting the bus
• Obey all traffic laws
• Maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus at all times
• Ensure the safety of all students
• Verify permissions for children who ride home with friends
• Assist students with getting on and off the bus as needed
• Discipline children as needed to maintain a safe environment
• Perform inspections of the bus before and after each route
• Attend safety meetings as required

Qualifications:

• Good verbal communication skills
• At least 21 years old
• Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years
• Be subject to a drug screen and physical
• Subject to DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
